Lanzhou Fiber’s 1,000-ton 50K Technical Result Authenticated

Recently, the technical result of the project titled “research on key technologies and equipment for industrialization of 1,000-ton NaSCN 50K large-tow carbon fiber” of Lanzhou Fiber has been authenticated. The appraisal meeting was organized by China National Textile & Apparel Council and the expert committee consists of seven experts including CAE Academician Jiang Shicheng.

At the meeting, Lanzhou Fiber Party Secretary and General Manager Zhou Baoqing made a report from the aspects of the R&D background, implementation process and results. Deputy General Manager Wang Fei elaborated on the technical plan, features and innovations of the project. All members of the expert committee agreed that Lanzhou Fiber' overall technology adopted in the production process of large tow carbon fibers has reached international advanced level. The authentication is the result of the 10-year efforts of Lanzhou Fiber, which has been making innovative and in-depth researches on the 50K large tow carbon production technology in accordance with the current situation of domestic and overseas developments. With a 1,000t production line, the project has an annual capacity of 4,000 tons of single-strand raw silk and 1,500 tons of carbon fiber. The products comply with the requirements of GQ3522 and meet the requirements on preparation for carbon fiber prepreg, effectively filling up the gap of the market of China’s 50K carbon fiber products.
