ADAMA’s participation in CIIE highlighted by branded new solutions and products

The 2^nd China International Import Expo commenced in Shanghai on November 5, 2019. As the first import-themed exhibition of the country, it has attracted more than 3,000 overseas companies to participate and demonstrate new products and technologies of supreme quality from all over the world. Such an international platform for inclusive and mutually beneficial development presents the world what China has achieved in the "New Era". ADAMA has also brought its new crop protection solutions and products into this import fair.

Since the establishment of its domestic distribution branch in December 2015, ADAMA has carried out its purpose of “Creating Simplicity in Agriculture” to keep introducing excellent formulations to China and provide effective solutions for Chinese farmers.

With its compound annual growth rate exceeding 20% for the past three years, the company has realized a leap-forward breakthrough for the branded products in Chinese market, among which “Nimitz”, a nematicide with new model of action and a bag-free crop protection solution for apples are displayed as representatives in the Expo.

Nimitz is a patented nematicide launched abroad by ADAMA in 2018. It applies a novel mechanism of action and kills nematodes for a broad spectrum of crops. Every year the crop output reduces by about 10%-30% per year globally due to parasitic nematodes, resulting in losses of more than $120 billion.

Conventional solutions have been unable to meet the needs to control nematodes due to resistance. Nimitz has come into being to effectively tackle down the issue. Compared with other nematicides in the market, it is easier to apply with longer efficacy and less application frequency, which is in line with the requirement of the national policy to reduce the application volume of pesticides. Moreover, it is low in toxicity and friendly to the environment, thus causing no damage onto the ecological structure of the soil. And with its residue compliant with the export standards, the product is really simple and convenient to ensure the high yield of crops.

The bag-free plant protection solution for apples has been initiated and developed by ADAMA for four years. As a set of well-established solution, it can save the farmers the cost of 2,000 yuan per mu on bagging and bring a premium income of more than 4,000 yuan per mu because of quality improvement, leading to a combined benefit enhancement of nearly 6,000 yuan per mu. It mobilizes the energy shifting for apple plantation and helps growers to increase both their yields and income.
